CrossFit Route 1 classes require a membership. The number of classes you participate in each week determines our membership rate.  We do not require a down payment, or a long-term commitment, just one month at a time.

MISSION STATEMENT

CrossFit Route 1 Athlete Performance upholds the top level of training for Athletes in Massachusetts. Through our top notch coaching we offer athletes incredible development in Speed, Agility, Strength, Power, Flexibility, Endurance, and Coordination so that they can dominate their sport in season. Each Athlete is personally evaluated by our staff before starting classes and he/she receives suggestions on what classes to take to ensure peak athletic performance. At the midpoint and end of their time at Route 1 Athlete Performance they will be re-tested to show their improvements.


SPORTS SPECIFIC TRAINING

These sessions are private and must be scheduled with a coach. The athlete or group of athletes will be assessed and will have a personalized program designed to their needs and goals. Group athletes must be training for the same sport. Contact for rates

To get you acquainted with Route 1's program, we’ve implemented a PREP COURSE that you MUST COMPLETE in the start of your first month. Our prep course series is designed to get you equipped with all the skills and techniques that are fundamental to the CrossFit program and to RTE1's classes. You’ll learn all about power lifting, kettlebells, kipping, gym safety, and much more. The prep course ensures that you’ll have a strong grasp and understanding of our program and it will have you ready to jump right into classes.

 

The group prep course starts the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6PM (see calendar below AND subject to changes). Any missed group prep course class must be rescheduled for a fee of $25 per class with one of our coaches as soon as possible. Completion of the prep course class series is required before attendance of a regularly scheduled CrossFit class.

 

WHAT EXACTLY DO WE MEAN?   

Our "beginner's period" is a 30-day unlimited membership, starting with the 5 group prep course classes. The 5th class in the series is an immersion class, in which you attend the specified CrossFit class along with the other prep course participants. One of our coaches will attend that class with you, to show you the ropes! Following the Immersion class, you may attend as many classes as you'd like for the remaining 30 days! (The initial month begins on class 1 of the prep course)

 

  

If you’re unable to take the prep course group classes because of your schedule, you can work privately with a coach. You’ll need to take 3 (one hour) training sessions that can be scheduled for a time that works for both you and the coach. After these private sessions, your coach will guide you through your first CrossFit class, after which time you may attend as many classes as you'd like for the remaining 30 days. (The initial month begins on session 1 of the private training sessions)

 

*PREP COURSE CLASSES MUST BE TAKEN IN ORDER, IN CONSECUTIVE WEEKS.
CLASSES BEGIN THE FIRST AND THIRD TUESDAY EACH MONTH, UNLESS OTHERWISE SCHEDULED.*

 

Once your initial 30 days of an unlimited membership is over, you can look at our different pricing packages to find a workout plan that works best for you.

JARED MONACO

Jared Monaco is the head coach and owner of CrossFit Route 1. As a college athlete at Endicott College, Jared played varsity soccer and was appointed captain his senior year. He also played lacrosse at the collegiate level. After graduation Jared continued to play soccer at the semi-professional level. It was during this time Jared began coaching. Jared has been coaching at the high school level for almost 6 years. He has coached Pingree High School boy’s soccer, women’s basketball and boys lacrosse. He has since moved on to be the assistant lacrosse coach at St. John’s Prep in Danvers.

 

Jared’s passion for coaching is what led him to personal training. The common thread is helping others achieve their goals through fitness training.

CHRIS ZARDAS

Chris has local roots, growing up in Wakefield and attending St Johns Prep High School. He went on to attend The University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he received 1st team all conference honors in football.  Chris found CrossFit in 2011 while he was looking to fill the void of competing after his football career came to an end. Already having a background in strength and conditioning, Chris decided to get his Level 1 certification and start coaching CrossFit as well.

KATIE BOSHKO

Originally from Long Island, NY, Katie played lacrosse at Babson College then continued on to coach at Babson and Wellesley High School. With prior experience in marketing and brand management, "KBo" has been a personal trainer since 2010 and joined the CrossFit Route 1 team in August 2013. Nothing excites her more than watching someone achieve something incredible, especially if there was ever a doubt that it was possible.

BRENT MIFFITT

Brent found CrossFit in 2006 and has been coaching CrossFit athletes ever since. The constant variety of exercises to work on along with the competition aspect is what keeps the training exciting and gives something new to look forward to. Brent has both competed and coached athletes in kettlebell competitions and CrossFit competitions.

 

Brent started training with kettlebells and circuit training in 2002 after getting bored with the regular gym routine. With his growing interest in kettlebell training, he became a Russian Kettlebell Certified trainer with the Combat Application Specialist training through the RKC. Through kettlebell training.

KATHRYN LEIBFRIED

Kathryn Leibfried is the owner of Intrinsic Health, a certified Health Coach, and CrossFit Coach.

Kathryn found CrossFit in 2009 when road races and regular gym routines had lost their novelty after college.  She had always been a competitive athlete and found that CrossFit satisfied both her fitness goals and her competitive drive.  In 2010 Kathryn competed as part of the NSCF team at the North East Regionals and then in 2011 she helped the CrossFit Route 1 team place 2nd in the North East Regionals, and 17th at the CrossFit Games.  

Through CrossFit and its community Kathryn began to reassess her own definition of health and began to realize that being well didn’t mean you weren’t sick.  After 8 years teaching Biology in the public school system, she found passions incongruent with her career.  In 2011 Kathryn earned her Level 1 CrossFit certification and in 2012 she graduated from the Institute of Integrated Nutrition as a Certified Health Coach (CHC).   Through her health coaching practice, Intrinsic Health, Kathryn has combined a passion for health and fitness with her teaching skills.  She guides and supports her clients in implementing the necessary, sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes that create a true and lasting health.
